Question for everyone, is Dixie a Sleeper in the 9th Region or is it all Colonels and Jags?

No matter what people answer to the first part of your question, it would still be all Colonels and Jags. :jump:

Dixie has great athletes and plays very physically on defense. They aren't blessed with great shooters - they rely on Bradfield inside, scoring off dribble penetration, and transition baskets (Meyer beat the entire Conner team down the court for a layup after a rebound).

IMO they will give Cooper and Cov Cath tough games - but unless they turn those teams over will be challenged to outscore them.

It's cliche, but DHS will need to win those games with GREAT defense.

Fully healthy I don't think Dixie hangs with either team. As they are constituted today , with missing key players, CCH and Cooper would still be favorites. You cut off penetration from Hunter. You stop the one outside shooter they have. Yes, easier said than done but strong defensive teams like CCH and Cooper have the personnel to do it.

Dixie is a clear #3 IMO.

It's the 9th...Cooper, Covcath, and Dixie Heights student-athletes have been battlin' each other during the season and summer ball for years. I like this DH Colonel team and by no means will they be a sleeper. The regular season match ups will shed some light on the tourney for us to yap about...

Intensity, defense, and good coaching wins tournaments. This could be Chevaliers year??? Time will tell!

Go Dixie Heights Colonels...:thumb:

I will agree with Clyde in that Dixie is a standalone at #3 in the region but having seen them play vs. Scott and then seeing the Cooper/CCH game I don't see them matching the intensity on defense that those two teams brought on Wednesday not to mention both teams are pretty deep. Add in both teams missing players and my personal opinion is the gap widens even more. Anything can happen of course, but the level of play that was displayed by Cooper and CCH was very high.

Please recognize that both cooper and covcath have played with that intensity against each other and not every game this year. Anything can happen. Additionally Dixie's intensity was getting healthy. I think they will compete at an INTENSE level.
