You can make this thread go in whatever you want. I'm just saying what my initial intention of it was. I was intending for it to be if team x lined up and against team y. Which one wins? But if you want to discuss which team is most dominant in their era of all time then by all means discuss. I truly believe using your criteria that this years Alabama team would beat those 3 teams you talk about. The physical skills today's players have are superior to the players even back when your 3 teams were dominate. That is what you're talking about right? Offenses and defenses have both evolved over just the past 10-12 years alone. Today's game is more complex thanit was even back then. I'd take my chances with Bama or Clemson this year against any team 15 years ago or even 21 years ago.

Is it truly impossible to compare eras so you go by who was most dominant in their was respective eras. Are you comparing dominance or overall greatness? The caliber of athletes is simply higher now so that's why this is so skewed towards recent teams.
