San Diego Chargers

Featured Replies

So, now that McCoy is gone, a good friend of mine has always loved the Chargers and now wonders how they've gone so wrong for so long. I told them that the never invested in the OL. He says that's bunk, they have drafted guys in the mid rounds, yada yada. So, I looked, they've drafted a grand total of 2 offensive linemen in the first two rounds in the past decade. I wonder how many other struggling franchises have done similarly?

In contrast, the Colts have invested 7 top 2 picks in the past 10 years.

Are the colts a good comparison for your statement?

Browns have had only 3 in 10 yrs. One of which was Joe Thomas (gold mine) and the other 2 were centers (smh)

They also spent alot of money in free agency on the Oline.

I'd ask oft-injured A.Luck that question.

How'd that work out for them?

I counted 5 lineman they signed in free agency last year or years past.

I don't know I never watch the Chargers.

Im just saying the colts havent been very good for a while now. And the chargers have a HOF QB.

My point is that the teams that struggle may all have similarly disregarded OL in the draft. No more, no less. That HOF QB hasn't been able to get them over the hump. What's the issue? I'd say his guys up front.

To change the topic slightly, but are the Chargers going to be joining the Rams in LA?

I don't see how they don't this go 'round.

Rivers has had some strong statistical seasons but is he really a HOF QB?

I would want to focus on Rivers too. I like him, I think he is a good QB, but is he the issue in San Diego? Or is it a general lack of talent?
