What difference do you guys see in these two terms? I discuss this in my sermon next week about Gideon. Just gives me what pops in your head, not the dictionary definition

Not an expert but a pagan honors beliefs in other religions not Christianity. Heathens believe in several gods. These are Christian labels.

What pops in my ordinary brain....

 

Pagans = worshipers of non God "entities" such as the moon, sun, magic, etc.

 

Heathens = people who are morally bankrupt’ish

 

You could reference the Twenty One Pilots song: “All my friends are heathens take it slowww”….

I think of Vikings for both.

Heathen comes across as satanic, while pagan seems like worshiping other gods.
