Correct. I have it cued to start there.

This similarity was intentional in Canadian band April Wine's 1979 awesome guitar rockin' tune "I Like To Rock" where at the end of the song they thematically sneak in nods to some of their rock heros with guitar licks from The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" and The Beatles' "Daytripper" mixed in with the main riff of the song. :ylsuper:

 

This one is very obvious, in my opinion.

The intro to Bowie and Queen's "Under Pressure" and Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby."

 

It sounds the same because it is the same. The bass line from Under Pressure was sampled.

This is one of those threads that I will have to come back to time and again because right off the top of my head I can't come up with many examples, but throughout my life I have heard many examples related to what you're talking about, but the question is going to have to stew in my brain for awhile before all of those examples start to surface.

By the way, while I was expecting some of the obvious and noteworthy similarities, I was interested also in songs that posters just happen to think sound similiar. For example, the introduction to ABBA's "Waterloo" and ELO's "Turn to Stone." Maybe I'm the only one that thinks so but I've always thought those two sounded similiar. What do you think, BBF? So, yes, just looking for any songs that you think have a similiar sound. Great job!!!! BTW, I listen to all of the songs that everyone posts. Most of the time, I hear what you hear and , in some cases, it may just be in the ear of the beholder.
