The Scoreboard has been updated since I first posted these teams' records last night, so I've added another victory to a few of them.

 

Today we get to see if a few of these teams can remain unbeaten:

 

Harlan Co. faces Woodford Co. @ Noon in the Farmers Bank of Jessamine Co.

 

LaRue Co. goes up against Jackson Co. @ 11:30 in the Smoky Mountain Xmas Classic.

 

Corbin will face Pleasure Ridge Park @ 2:30 in the Smoky Mountain Xmas Classic.

LaRue Co. defeated Jackson Co. 66-55 in the Smokey Mountain Classic in Galinburg TN to remain unbeaten.

 

Harlan Co. took care of Woodford Co. 62-46 in the Farmers Bank of Jessamine Co. to maintain their perfect record.

 

Corbin will face Pleasure Ridge Park today @ 2:30 in their quest to remain undefeated.

South Oldham has played a schedule right out of the Cupcake Conference.

 

I would like to see them play some of the better teams in the 6th, 7th or 11th regions. They need to upgrade their schedule - otherwise they can dominate the 8th region all they want and fall early each trip to Rupp.

We will see. To be perfectly honest I don't know much about Boyd Co. or the strength of their competition, but in about half of their victories so far they have dismantled their opponents and are averaging about 73 ppg. It doesn't appear that they've played anyone of any major significance so it's hard to wage just yet how good they are. Their next opponent is Owensboro Catholic in the Ashland Invitational, who historically puts competitive teams on the floor, so we shall soon get a better idea about them.

 

Last season Christian Co. was the only undefeated team against Kentucky competition to enter post season play with a record of 24-2 before ultimately losing in the Quarterfinals of the Sweet 16 to South Laurel.

Boyd County from Region 16 lost their first game of the season against Kentucky competition to Owensboro Catholic 64-54 in the Ashland Invitational.

 

South Oldham, Southwestern, and Harlan County continue their winning ways:

 

South Oldham dismantled winless Shawnee 110-67 in the Mitchell F Irvin Classic

 

Southwestern took care of Jeffersontown 81-57 in the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops Classic.

 

Harlan County topped Tates Creek 68-44 in the Hyden Bank Christmas Tournament.

 

Elliott County lost their first game of the season to Ravenwood, TN 64-57 in the King of the Smokies at Pigeon Forge, TN, but remain unbeaten against Kentucky competition.
