This was a very well played game. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a different game at Williamstown. Stanley played a great game, but Grant County is far more talented than I expected them to be. Luke Dewalt is going to be a load to handle for the next 4 years. Congrats to Coach Utter on a hard fought win.

32nd look to be wide open this year. I knew Williamstown would be solid but Grant's early success has surprised me. Sounds like it was a great game.

I guess it could be stranger if WHS kids were doing the storming following a loss.

Seems strange because over the years Grant County has seen themselves as way above Williamstown. Wouldn't expect them to see this as a big win.

Agreed, particularly after the way the last 10+ years have played out, however... it is still a geographic rivalry at the least, and there was a TON of energy in the gym last night, as there should be in a tightly contested ballgame. Just a case of kids being kids.

 

I'd encourage everyone to make a trip to the rematch in Williamstown in early January.
