I'm not sure, like everyone else it seems, how or who determines who gets it. If it is just a popularity contest, then I agree on not splitting the vote. But if the award is based on statistics alone, just saying that both of them, like so many others, deserve the award.

I dont think they have a criteria which floors me

There are several players not on this list, plus the four on this list, that are very good players. Maybe not the 'elite' talent of the past but a pretty good year!

 

With that said Carothers would get my vote. His total body of work - numbers, plus numbers against good competition, plus a title, plus career - are all just too good.

 

Now, will he win? He should but I don't think he will and don't take this as a knock - just a fact - Walker Wood will probably win just because he's going to UK. Just happens and a lot of the media will just vote because of that.

 

Maybe I will be wrong but I doubt it.
