From the Cincy Enquirer:

Fredrick’s 17 points lead CovCath in win

Rick Broering, Enquirer contributor

In a battle between two teams ranked in the Kentucky statewide coaches' poll, Covington Catholic's balanced offense and tenacious defense was too much for visiting Lexington Catholic Wednesday night. The Colonels won 62-52.

Four of CovCath's five starters scored in double figures as C.J. Fredrick led the way with 17, Cole VonHandorf added 15, Jake Walter pitched in with 13, and Aiden Ruthsatz had 10.

Fredrick visited Xavier on Tuesday night for the Musketeers' win over North Dakota State and received a scholarship offer from coach Chris Mack's staff. He also has offers from Iowa, Ball State, Wright State, Northern Kentucky, Miami (OH), and Winthrop.

"I was shocked," Fredrick said of his offer. "But I appreciated their confidence in me that they think I can play with them. They see me as a J.P. Macura-ish type of player."

Could Covington Catholic run the table ? What are the chance?

Could Covington Catholic run the table ? What are the chance?

Run the table as in what? 9th? Sweet 16?

Yes in the 9th along with Cooper as the early favorites.

Sweet 16? They have the pieces to do well should they win the 9th.

One game at a time and the next game is vs. St. Henry, never worry about the game after that, until it is the next game.

Obviously he's a nice player but Luke wasn't "getting where he wanted" at any point. Yes, he did get penetration occasionally but CCH did a very nice job on him.

Agree, Johnson is a nice player, very quick, plays under control and has a nice jump shot, the type of player that holds your attention. But his lack of impact in the second half had way more to do with how CCH defended him then him rolling his ankle.

As for the Crazies heckling the opponent when they have an inbound pass right in from of that group, funny stuff and all in good spirit. Not sure which Lex Cath player it was but during one inbound play this Lex Cath player was smiling (almost laughing) while taking the inbound pass, great to see the young man enjoying the moment.
