In what way? I have heard guys talk about 1st and 2nd region refs also being a lot different, one region letting them play VERY physical, one calling everything. Is this kind of the same with 11th and 12th?

They let more go in the 11th plus the refs in the 11th are used to the speed of the game. The 12th Region doesn't play nearly as fast and frenetic as the 11th and I think that has an effect on how 12th Region refs see things and make their calls. I'm used to how 12th Region games are called but I can understand how folks from other regions can play in the 12th and be frustrated by the officiating.

As a whole though I think people make way too big of a deal about officiating. There will always be blown calls and I'll always believe a referee is inept before I will accuse them of blatantly cheating like so many people seem to do these days. If I was a dictator I'd make every person who complains about officiating have to be a referee for 5 games. I bet they'd have a whole new perspective then. It ain't easy at all. I would never be allowed to officiate a game because my salary would be insane.

As a coach I rarely complain about the officiating or ride the officials about calls (can't say that about a lot of coaches). I also do that to try and set an example for my players. Every once in a blue moon when an obvious call is missed that was so bad it could have actually hurt a player, I will speak up, or if a ref just doesn't blow his whistle for anything, but that's about it. One reason I don't is that I am a former ref...did a lot during my college days, and I know how hard it is. However, I do feel that because I have refereed I have more leeway to complain (if I wanted to) because I have actually done the job. Those that usually complain and shout the loudest though have NEVER done it, and probably never will and would more than likely be worse than the worst official out there if they did.

I thought the officiating was very good. In a tough fast paced game like this one the officials were not the reason one team won and the other lost. Bryan Station did adjust in the 2nd half, they quit fouling. I feel that Boyle had a chance to beat a very talented team and will not face any more team speed all year than BS has. You had to be proud on how hard this young Boyle team played even when some of their shots weren't falling for them. This was a great game to watch even when our Rebels went down in a great effort.

I wasn't mad at the officiating either but I do think I confused them when trying to figure out which way the possession arrow should go after the jump ball and then technical. :lol2:

Sitting where I sit I always hear the opposing team's fans complain about the refs. I understand why they feel that way. The game is called differently in Lexington.
