Agree to disagree. You take your chances on a 57 yard field goal rather than give them a shot to extend their drive. All it would take is a simple 5 yard illegal contact penalty for them to get an automatic first down.

Didn't Flacco lose 5 yards on the play running out of bounds. The penalty would have backed them up another 5 yards. Even if they didn't get the fg, it would have been good from 62-65 yards. I decline it also.

Which is great for him. However you still take your chance with a 57 yard field goal rather than them getting another chance. It's easy to say should have took the penalty since he made it. However if they take the Penalty and they end up getting the first down and scoring a td, then people also say he shouldn't have took it. It's so easy for people to say what someone should have done after the fact.

 

Marvin has sucked with most decisions. That was not one of them no matter what Dan Fouts tries to say. He is the best kicker but you still make them have to make a 57 yarder rather than give them another chance.

It's probably also hard to call plays when your qb can't complete passes, or locks in on one guy. Who knows if some of the pass plays were good or not since he locks in on one guy.

I think he can kick a 63 yd FG. If I were Harbaugh and had a chance for him to break the record today I'd let him.

On second down Dalton has time and he never looks left the whole time. He stares down a wr on the right, he doesn't get open and so Dalton finally has to roll right and throw it away.
