Scott vs. Dixie Predictions

Featured Replies

Sorry. Like I said, I heard it through the grapevine, it wasn't confirmed. I couldn't imagine them taking the week off.

Your grapevine needs some fertilizer. Red Colonels have had spirited practices all week, I know, I pick up my son every day. Actually we have not heard of any "hoopla" regarding their home opener.

Speaking for myself, an Eagle fan, I don't think we have too high of expectations. Is Dixie in a down year? Maybe. We won't know for a couple of months. They have played some monster competition and that should be noted. Is Scott better this year? Maybe a little. Is there a chance that Dixie is looking past Scott? Maybe. Is Dixie distracted by all the hoopla of their Grand Opening? Maybe. Did Dixie take the week off from practicing? (I heard yes, but can't confirm.) Did Scott? No. Does Scott players feel disrespected? Yes. (No player on either team was born since the last time Scott beat Dixie.) Is Dixie the better team? Probably, they usually are. Could the Eagles pull an upset? I don't know, but it would be great...

By the way, if it takes some (rather mild) postings on a web site by some over eager Scott fans to motivate Dixie, what does that say about Dixie's state of readiness?

Personally, I'd love to see Scott turn the program around. But I just can't see them beating(or even competing) with Dixie this year or any other year for some time. I don't care if Dixie is down and Scott is up, 25 years of losing speaks for itself. A trend that long speaks volumes about how wrong something is in Taylor Mill. Scott feels disrespected? They shouldn't. They haven't done anything to earn any respect, so therefore they can't be shown dis-respect. As a previous post stated, the closest game in recent memory was a 30 point Dixie win. Respect is earned, not given. You want it, go get it.

It was the previous post when I started...... :p

Fisky, I am an unequivacable Dixie fan. But somebody from our side had to say it. I wear my Red with a great deal of pride as I'm sure you do too, but it's been embarassing. There is no excuse for the poor play and preperation. If it isn't pointed out, when do you think it will ever change? I don't strive for mediocrity in any aspect of life and would hate to think that our boys were rewarded for it. Before the season started I thought a state championship was possible, but right now I'm just hoping to make to make the playoffs. I know how good these kids are, and what they can accomplished if they put there minds to it. That is why I am so dissapointed to this point. Next Friday I will be there, and I will cheer them on. I always do. I drove eight hours in a day just to be at the Trinity game a few years ago. This one being 2 miles from the house will be a piece of cake. See ya there, I'll be the one with the RED sock on.

1-2-3 DIXIE PRIDE!

I feel your pain. I ran my mouth before the season going on how Dixie was returning all of these starters, and they were going to make a run this year in the playoffs. What sucks is I work with several Elder and Highlands blow hards, and I have been eating crow the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully, this year's team resembles last year's team, and they start a nice run by putting a beating on Scott and go on to win another district title.
