November 3, 20169 yr ...we had someone else instead of one, if not both, of the current candidates? Seems like the vast majority of people fall into one of two camps...either they're die-hard party loyalists, or they're voting against the opposition. Doesn't seem like there's any political issues being discussed. It's all about emails and alleged sexual comments/assaults. But, what if we had different people running? How would Hillary fare against someone like Ben Carson? Obviously he shares the "inexperience" factor that Trump has, but I don't know that character would be much of an issue. Likewise, if Trump was running against Bernie Sanders, you remove the email issue and Benghazi. So what would we be discussing if we had another "outsider" on the Republican side running versus a different Democratic "insider"? Immigration? The economy? Foreign policy? Health care?
November 3, 20169 yr Bernie and Biden easily beat Trump. Kasich, Ryan, Rubio, and possibly Cruz or Bush beat Clinton. I think there are still quite a few people on both sides that could win as well but my confidence dwindles significantly after we get past the 7 above.
November 3, 20169 yr A Biden/ Kasich election would have been nice. Don't know if I could have stood listening to Kasich for months. Easily, the sourest disposition of any of the 25 candidates( D, R, L , I & G Parties) that ran this time...
November 3, 20169 yr Author Not really concerned about who would beat who...but rather looking at what issues would we be discussing. Because that's what's being swept under the rug right now. Have heard very little on policy with these two.

November 3, 20169 yr I would like to see the time of the whole campaigning process dramatically shortened. The length of it is draining, costly, and annoying, and it for too long of a period keeps our culture unnecessarily pumped up and divided. I don't believe for one minute that the time couldn't be cut in half. Most other countries manage to have much shorter campaign periods. We could too.
November 4, 20169 yr I would be proud to support Pence. Appears to be. Conservative, moral and presidential. Throw in humble. I despise trump slightly less than I despise Clinton.
November 4, 20169 yr Biden vs Rubio would've been a heck of a battle IMO. While I wouldn't have voted for either, I'd have been okay with whichever we elected as I think they're both genuine good people with America's best interests at heart.

I think there are still quite a few people on both sides that could win as well but my confidence dwindles significantly after we get past the 7 above. That's what kills people and turns them away from this election. Our choices are that bad. My only hope is that after Clinton we can get people to actually look at politics and not what race or gender the candidates are.
November 4, 20169 yr Good candidates won't run. Would you subject your family to the political scrutiny of the press. I'm a fairly moral person but I have a few skeletons in my closet. Who wants to put their family through that- narcissists!
