What are your thoughts on the final Bluegrasspreps Class 2A rankings of 2016? Will anyone surprise Mayfield, after dominating the rankings all season? CAL and DeSales have been highly ranked all season, are they worthy? Is LCA the surprise team of the year? Can LCA continue their winning ways? Who will go all the way? Who could disappoint? What surprises can we expect?

Should be some great 3rd round matchups in 2A this year. Most of the favorites will be on the road in that game.

What games are you looking at being great in the 3rd round?

I believe that DeSales at CAL will be the match up to see in the 3rd round. That's if we can go down to Glasgow and take care of business once again.

Every round three game will be very interesting.

Mayfield vs. Owensboro Catholic ... Trap Game? Upset special

DeSales vs. CAL ... REMATCH! AGAIN! Big time.

Holy Cross (Covington) vs. Newport Catholic ... 2011 Deja Vu?

Danville vs. Lexington Christian ... Revenge match

It's playoff time! As usual, DeSales is firing on all cylinders entering the playoffs, having won their last three games by a combined score of 129-0. That being said, I agree with their ranking. They are a perfect fit in the three hole. Monroe County put a jolt into us last year, taking a two TD lead early in the game. I don't look for that to happen this year, although Glasgow in the second round gives me some pause. Here is why I like the Colts' chances to make another deep run.

1. Defense wins championships, and for a team known year in and year out for their defense, this may be their best one. They have only given up 65 points this season against a pretty rigorous schedule.

2. The young pups are growing up. DeSales has considerably more raw talent than they had last year, but much of it was young. These guys are now more seasoned and their improvement has been considerable.

3. Speed! Last year's team was HUGE but lacked big play ability. This year's team is the exact opposite.

4. There are always a few tricks up the sleeves of this coaching staff as playoff time rolls around, and this year is no different. Look for some adjustments in a few key personnel groups to maximize the speed on the field at all times!

Should be a fun ride...go Colts!!!

Every 3rd round game...

Mayfield at OC- Mayfield has to go on the road this year

Desales at CAL- Can CAL finally overcome DeSales in November or will it be the same old story.

Those are the one's I'm most familar with.

I know the potential Danville v. LCA will be potentially a revenge match and Holy Cross v. NCC should be a good one. 2 A has some depth of quality teams this year!
