Owensboro will open up Rash Stadium friday against John Hardin. Somebody tell me about their field and your predictions for the Devils and Dawgs?:ylsuper:

The Dawgs play a complete game on the road pass a little run alot. The defense will need to step-up, if not could be a long ride home to E-town.

Apollo 35 Grayson 0 Apollo is not a great offensive team they have only put up 55 points this year in the three wins. Their defense on the other hand has only given up 21 points. I think they have better success against Grayson on the offensive side and I expect another good defensive showing as Apollo goes to 4-0.

Catholic 34 Daviess Co 14 According to the stats on the khsaa website DC has given up an astounding 743 yards rushing in their three games. This might be a game where Catholics struggling running game will get some confidence. The passing game should also see a big boost with the return of Holland. With Ijames, Norcia, and Holland all out their at the same time its hard to imagine this offense at least not having a little success.

Owensboro 28 John Hardin 14 I expect OHS will be very pumped about the return to a new and improved Rash Stadium. John Hardin is a solid ball club and should give the devils all they can handle but I think in the end Hall will get at least a couple big runs and that defense will continue to show they are one of the best units in the state.

John Hardin got embarassed 2 weeks ago at Larue County. Hopefully they can rebound against a solid Owensboro team. A modification on the defensive front may prove to be what the Dawgs need to keep Owensboro's RB in check.

Not trying to disrespect John Hardin but they will not be ablt score 35 on OHS. That defense is unbelievable. For John Hardin to win its gonna have to be more like 10-7.

Rafterman, you could be right. That defense is pretty good, but they're not very big. I think JHHS could do some damage if they run it right at OHS. The Hall kid will surely make some big plays, but I don't see him outrunning anyone in the JHHS secondary. IMO, OHS will have to be patient and chip away with sustained drives if they plan to beat JHHS.

JHHS is averaging nearly 500 ypg on the ground. They aren't going to kill you with the pass. I don't see them getting nearly that many against OHS, but I think they'll get more than people suspect. :thumb:

Apollo 28, Grayson County 7- As said in an earlier post, Apollo isnt great offensively. But the the Eagles have more than made up for that on the defensive side. AHS shuts down the Cougars and goes to 4-0.

Owensboro Catholic 28, Daviess County 21- Neither team is blessed with overall team speed and that should make for a close game between two teams looking to find themselves. Neil Holland will be the difference in this one, but watch for DC's Jake Bevil to have a big game.

Owensboro 21, John Hardin 10- Owensboro has been getting better offensively with each game. But JH can matchup better athleticlly with OHS than any team the Red Devils have seen this season. OHS will have to work for their score but the Red Devils prevail in their 1000th football game. Also it will be OHS's first home game on the new turf!

Easy- John will need to do more than just a modification on the D front, stopping the run will lead to passing. This is where John has some short comings, and at this point its not looking good in the D backfield. The backs just don't seem to have football smarts at this point in the season. The next two weeks will be pivotal for John's young D, if they return to E-town with a 3-1 record there is hope on returning to the regional championship game.

I agree with you about the secondary. Good Speed, average cover skills. If the D-line can bring pressure against a smaller OHS front, I think the pass attack will be less of a threat. :thumb:
