Russell is legit.... this team has not got the respect they deserve. In a class filled with teams that lose tight games Russell is a team that has proven they can win them.

Russell was 2 TDs better tonight. Overcame mistakes and a bogus PR for a TD called back tonight. Conley is the real deal. Cherry for Raceland is a complete stud. Two great teams

Raceland got out coached once again tonight. Congrats to the Devils for the win.

Cherry is a beast as is Davidson and Walker

Couldn't have asked for a better game between these two rivals to cap off the regular season. Just a fantastic high school football game.

Pretty simple really...who would attempt a pass on the 7 yard line with a timeout left when you could have ran the ball and kicked a field goal and won? How do you let Russell run for a TD before half knowing there is no chance they are going to throw it? No doubts about it russell has a good team and definitely more speed than raceland, not taking anything from them

I couldn't agree more about the run/timeout/field goal scenario.

:thumb: We weren't out coached at all . Maynard came in with a good game plan. Salmons / staff imo made some great adjustment at the half.

Both of these coaches and their staffs are top notch. To say that either of these coaches were / are outcoached in any game is imo just crazy. People want to find somewhere to place blame and coaches are an easy target.

No one hates to lose as much as I do but I have to give credit where it's due ... Russell mde one more big play than the Rams ...the int. in the end zone on the final Raceland play of the game, that's it.

Wow. That is nuts if they were well within FG range for the win and elected to go for the TD! Similar to kicking off on the other teams 30 after you score and NOT attempt an onside kick and decide to kick it through the uprights!

I am not going to go back and forth on this and I am "getting real" as you call it !

I just think that takes away from a great ball game that was played by two very good teams. Most of all, the effort, heart and guts shown by both Raceland and Russell kids, players. Players make plays and they made one more than us, end of story... to me anyway.

I am sure that every coach at any school that loses a tough/close game goes over and over what he could have done in any number of situations all through the game. That doesn't mean they were out coached, not to me anyway. I have had a h.s. coach in my family and know what they go through. I have seen coaches get blamed for practically anything and everything but the common cold. Sometimes you just get beat, I hate it but it happens. Raceland just lost on a last play that could have just as easily not been a interception and we would have won on a last second completion for a td and no one would be blaming a coach
