December 9, 20169 yr Win for everyone. Fowler gets paid, Cards get a good center fielder. Cubs win by the Cards tying up a lot of $ for an aging centerfielder for 5 years, losing their first round pick and the Cubs getting the compensatory pick after the first round. Good for Fowler. I'm happy for him. My father in law is pretty happy as He's a big STL fan and he always would say how Fowler was his favorite player on the Cubs.
December 9, 20169 yr I'm hopeful the Cubs will acquire a starting pitcher soon. Part of was hoping for Jansen, but Davis came super cheap as we got no room for Soler. I do like that we aren't having to strip the farm system for guys. Getting Schwarber back is essentially like getting a power hitting free agent. The fact we are so cost controlled right now is nice. Given all the winter meeting craziness and teams making moves and giving up tons of prospects and $$$, I still would not trade places with a single team in MLB now or for the next 5 years. It's a good and unfamiliar feeling lol. Count three "we's"in that post. Times have changed for Cubs fans for sure. Good for you.

Been a fan since I was roughly 5-6 years old, which was 86-87 so I think I've earned my right to say "we" after the misery I've endured :lol2:. Told all my Cardinal fans I bet I enjoyed my first World Series win more than all their Card ones combined.

December 9, 20169 yr Huge fan of the Fowler deal. Cards have plenty of $$ and if he out performs Heyward for 3 years of that contract I'll consider it a huge win. I like this for the rivalry too. If the Cards get Turner I think that really solidifies a lineup.
