Captain W F Call Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Could PRP crash the Big Three's championship party? They have looked good beating a Dunbar team, who gave MBA a tough time, who in turn beat Trinity. I know winning one game is not a championship, but does PRP have the talent to make a run at the top? They have the coaching for sure, Wolfe does a tremendous job. I need some of you Louisville pigskin pundits to sound off on it. BTW, where the devil is Gus McCrae? I bet he's off nappin' or pullin' at his jug. "Newt, you best saddle up your pony too. I reckon."
ram2003 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 PRP is definitely a grinder in the slaughterhouse known as R2D4. Although I don't see them beating St. X or Male this year, I do see PRP playing them pretty dang close. And PRP will definitely be the favorite against Manual this year, even if Manual keeps improving.
stick1 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 They have the number of boys in their school that give them a chance with the big dogs unlike a lot of schools. I think Coach Wolfe has had a good track record so it should be interesting.
LSURock Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I think this thread is a little early. Maybe if PRP defeats Male or X (or Manual) during the regular season they may cause a stir come playoff time. But until any of that happens, I'd say the answer to your question is no.
gchs_uk9 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I will say exactly what I said after I saw Pleasure Ridge Park defeat Lincoln County on opening night: They can't compete with St. Xavier and Male in R2D4. A team that can win that district (or Class AAAA for that matter), will always wow you with their play. By that I mean they will exhibit themselves to be head-and-shoulders above an inferior opponent. Pleasure Ridge Park didn't do that. I think the Panthers could place third in that district race, but will fall early in the postseason to either Male or X, whoever finishes second.
GusMcRae Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Captn...I thought you had been scalped by Indians or Mexican Bandits. PRP def has the talent to play with any of the big 3. If a few breaks go their way they could make a run...but the one limit IMO to this team is the LACK of SR play. PRP only has 11 SR's on the roster with only 4 contributing on either side of the ball. So even though I think they are one of the best 4 teams in 4A I believe next year is the Panthers year. "It aint dyin I'm talkin bout Call, IT'S LIVIN!"
