Chip Kelly or Tom Herman

If I was LSU I would want Kelly over Herman, if I was Texas I would want Herman over Kelly.

Yes. Kelly has proven success at the highest level in the college game. Herman doesn't as of yet.

Chip Kelly has a history of winning games in college, with the help of Nike. He shouldn't have any trouble winning at LSU or Texas. I'd think folks would be excited to see that offense in Baton Rouge. Hermann will be great but just not to the level of Kelly.

I agree. I think the one exception may be Texas. Herman is a Texas guy, he knows the lay of the land recruiting wise and I think that would be the guy the donors want. But everybody else will be going all out for Chip Kelly if he comes back to college. I will be curious to see if USC does open up (which it might not since they have turned their season around somewhat) whether he wants to stay West Coast or go to LSU where they have more talent readily available in the program. Hell, he may even go back to Oregon.

What does Nike have to do with this? If he isn't at Oregon I'm not sure what Nike has to do with it.

I think he is hinting at, that Nike being right there and all the uniforms they offer made it attractive to players. Which helped in in recruiting at first get some better players, which helped him and his offense become even more successful.

I can't remember but how was Oregon doing under Chip Kelly before he got Marcus Mariota?

Still stellar. The two years leading up to Mariota they were 24-3 with one of those losses being the 3 point loss to Cam Newton's Auburn in the championship.

I thought Mariota was the QB in that championship game against Auburn? Obviously my timeline is off on remembering. Who was the QB that year for Oregon then?
