Is Michelle guilty by association? What did she do or say that revokes her role model status?

 

I actually hear students bash her for removing unhealthy food choices from public schools. Believe it or not, I hear that quite often. Of course, I think we know that most of those dislike her for far more nefarious reasons.

In my opinion, several First Ladies have been extremely positive role models.

 

Sharing a last name with a POTUS one doesn't like/hates shouldn't be an automatic disqualifier.

 

I agree. Betty Ford. What a legacy she left behind. While I wasn't terribly fond of Nancy Reagan, I did admire her love and devotion to Ron. I am fond of Rosalyn Carter and Barbara Bush. Both could be considered role models. Same for Laura Bush. And I think Hillary has a long history of working to help children and others who haven't been as fortunate as the rest of us. I find qualities in all of those women that should be admired!!! All are(or should be) role models for young ladies today.

I laugh when people(who don't know history) say politics has reached a new low. It was much dirtier with our Philandering Fathers.

 

In the race between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson for president in 1800, Jefferson called Adams "a blind, bald, crippled, toothless man who is a hideous hermaphroditic character with neither the force and fitness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman."

 

In turn, Adams called Jefferson "a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father."

 

So, when Trump calls Hillary a lesbian-loving hermaphrodite or she calls him a "p"- grabbing, bad-hair, little-handed pedophile, then I may agree that the dialogue has sunk to new depths.
