Owensboro has been impressive since their back to back losses to rival Owensboro Catholic and Bowling Green. The double overtime win over Christian County seems to have energized the Red Devils. Apollo has struggled a bit this season, but they have played a solid schedule as well. What are your thoughts on this one?

This game on paper is going to be rough for Apollo. However, this is a city matchup and I think Apollo will put up a fight for a while. The Eagles have some playmakers in QB Brandon Alexander and WR Peyton Peters. Defensively Apollo struggles but I expect Apollo to put everyone they can in the box to try to stop the run.

OHS has taken off since the coaching staff made the change offensively. QB Zach Gross looks more comfortable and the offense is becoming more productive since the change. OHS will look to run the ball right at Apollo and if the Eagles can't slow it down, it'll be a long night. Apollo will need a big game from DT Jace Southerland.

Big picture: OHS should win this game, and the big game coming up is against Graves. That is the game for OHS that could trip them up as it almost did last season. Apollo will need to beat Marshall to make the playoffs. I think Apollo wins that game and makes the yearly trek to BG for the first round.

I will be watching for that one! Interested to see how it plays out.

Neither team will challenge BG in the first round but I think Apollo has the best chance to play a more competitive game against BG. By competitive, I mean, maybe picking up a few first downs and eating some clock. It seems Apollos team speed is better than Marshalls but we'll find out next week

Marshall County started out pretty strong, but has really struggled against very good to medium teams. It is a long drive to Owensboro from the Purchase Area; so I'd give Apollo the advantage. But will be interested to see if Marshall has packed it in for the year already or not.
