Big NKY matchup with rivals Covington Catholic taking on Highlands. Highlands looks down, but could we see a surprise this week? Who else could could be in jeopardy? Who could move up after this week? Who could move down? Could Highlands move back in with a strong performance? Who else is ready to move in?

How close is Madison Southern?

How close is Madison Southern?

You could almost rank Dixie and Madison Southern 10a and 10b. The Eagles are certainly knocking on the door. Graves County isn't far behind and they have a couple of nice opportunities to prove their worth over the next two weeks.

If Highlands beats Cov Cath, they are back in the top 10.

If Highlands by chance beat Cov Cath and Graves County upset Christian County, next weeks rankings would be interesting to say the least.

5A Discussion....

We have BG and then some other teams.

So what is the deal with Greenwood. Only loss is to Franklin Simpson, but they cant beat BG. So are they really a #3?

They do have a solid win over South Warren and the loss to Franklin-Simpson was a close one, that probably could have went either way. Where would you put Greenwood and who would you put at #3?

Name me a team on this list that you feel good about going up against BG this year?

You'd likely have to go to 6A to find a team to do that and then could still be a close game.

Greenwood has IMO their best team since their 2009 Semi-Final 6A squad that lost to St X. They will play BG as tough as anyone. Their QB is very underrated (Jackson Adams). They run the veer and run it as well as anyone. Problem is when you play BG, 1 they will make adjustments on defense and that tends to give them the upper hand on the opponents Offense. 2. The BG offense right now is extremely difficult to stop. St X rightly stopped the BG run game. Problem was there's a BG pass game too and that works well also. Just don't see GW able to shut or slow for a long period 1 of the best BG offenses they've had.

BUT GW, played with BG solidly for a half last year and they could do that again this year. But just don't see it for 4 quarters. Doesn't mean the Gators aren't a good team though. They will be a very difficult out in the playoffs.
