All of the Jefferson County public schools played last Thursday because they were on fall break starting Friday.

I always thought that Friday was a holiday so that the teachers could attend the St. James Art Fair in Old Louisville.

This is a different topic, but I agree with you. I think schools should make an effort to play day/night doubleheaders on Thanksgiving Friday if possible to boost crowds and money for all schools.

 

It makes zero sense for there not to be as many games as possible on Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving.

 

Hey teams: I know there's a certain mystical quality to playing "under the lights," but the bottom line is it makes it exponentially harder for me to get my photos when I'm shooting under your crummy stadium lights. And please don't expect me to get anything decent in the end zone areas. If you want to look good in your pictures, give me more daylight.

It is their only chance to beat the weekend out-of-towner crowd to the good deals.

Agreed. I just wish it would happen in areas where there are multiple games. Which, NewCath and Highlands accommodated to this last year in their games against Danville and Pulaski County, respectively. I remember Fort Knox and Mayfield doing this back in the 80's when they hooked up...at least when the games were at FK. They did this in '96, too when them and Edmonson County played.
