And Beechwood. Right now Lloyd has the smallest (in terms of player size) varsity roster I've seen from them in a long time. There is some talent, but it's not where it has been in recent years. So yes, beating NCC (who in case you forget will be in Lloyd's district next year) at a level as low as Frosh is still a good sign that there is some Frosh talent at Lloyd. Get it???

The win over NC in of itself is not all that impressive. Not a knock against NC. The season is young and no one is really proven yet. I was unaware of the other win over Beechwood. Together that makes it more impressive this early in the season. Two wins is the start of a trend. Does Lloyd have Covcath on the schedule this season? Sounds like they are not as strong as usual and Lloyd may be able to beat them. That would make for another win against a school that usually has a decent freshmen team.

Beating NCC and Beechwood in back to back weeks is very impressive in anyones book as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully this is a sign of something good for the Jugg program in the near future and they will be a big player in the newly aligned 2A district next year.

Great game by both teams. Congrats to Lloyd for the win and the goal line stand in O.T. Lloyd has a great freshman coaching staff that has obviously drawn some talent. Hopefully they do not go for greener grass at the end of the season. Stay coaching freshman and continue to build a solid foundation for that program.

 

Sam Beiting coached his first game as Newcath Frosh coach. Did a great job and will continue to do fine. Play calling could have been better, but hey, I could not have done better. Good luck to all.

Lloyds freshman staff have been together for a long time now. The offensive coordinator has been there for over 20 years. The head coach been there for at least 15 years and coached in the Lions organization. The line coach just went to Freshman from the Lions Junior Head Coach. They have really put a good team together and they also had coached Austin Voght, Ernst,Chase Bradford and that group to an undefeated season in Freshman football. My congrats to the players and coaches and it does seem promising down the road. JD

Good, hard hitting game that was fun to watch. Congrats to Lloyd ont the win. They made the big plays when they needed to. Proud of the way the Breds battled from behind twice. A game each team can build and improve on.
