Pulaski County keeps improving as the season continues. While Lincoln County is looking for a season defining win. Can the Patriots pull off the upset?

Pulaski 42-14

Hey Jumper,

Which Region is Pulaski paired up with should they make the semifinals again?

Thx!

I'd assume Region 3, unless there is something different being done with 5A.

You are right. I looked it up, but I asked the wrong question as to which districts comprise Region 3 and it Districts 3 and 6.

SO, for Pulaski to move on, they have to deal with Southwestern in their own district. Whitley County out of District 8 for the Region and then the winner between South Oldham (District 3) and Madison Southern (District 6) in the semi-state. MAN that is FAVORABLE! Not a given mind you, but you have to like Pulaski's chances with that all the way to the carpet at WKU! WOW! No BG, Highlands, CovCath, Fern Creek, Owensboro, Christian County. Life is GOOD!

I don't anticipate the winner of the other District to be able to knock off either Pulaski County or Southwestern.

I would say right now it is a toss-up between Whitley County or Harlan County. Whoever wins that District though, I cannot see preventing a Southwestern vs. Pulaski County Regional Final

ATL,

Who would you give the nod to as the favorite at this point in that Southwestern v Pulaski County game?

Why is district 5(Highlands Cover Cath) and 6 (Madison Southern) not in region 3 for the playoffs? Why would district 3 move all the way to the third region?

Pulaski, IMO...SW for some reason just doesn't seem to be where I thought they would be. Pulaski, even losing QB in the 1st game, appears to be pretty solid again.

Not close to the last couple of years, but still probably the best in the east.

I am not sure to be honest.

I haven't been able to get a good handle on how good either team is.

Pulaski at times has looked like a solid team. They beat a good Rockcastle County and Madison Southern is not a bad team. The Henry Clay win is "meh" because Henry Clay appears to be very down. Pulaski also got destroyed by a very good Scott County team.

Southwestern lost to two very good smaller class schools in Danville and Corbin. Their win over Knox Central is more impressive than first glance because Knox actually had the Carton kid when they beat them. The two point Mercer win now sticks out as a pretty "ho-hum" victory since Mercer lost to East Jessamine and sits at 3-4.

My gut instinct tells me these are both "good" but not "great" teams that are pretty evenly matched. If I had to pick I am going to go with Pulaski just because that Rockcastle win is the best of the bunch.

Jumper,

I think it's just a "Cross-Bracketing" thing. District 6 is in Region 3 along with District 3. District 3 is the one that is switched.

Makes me think someone wanted to get all the teams he didn't want to play on 1 side for them a chance to get further in the playoffs. But it is what it is now!

It's also worth mentioning that I don't think either team avoids a running clock with Bowling Green if they get to the Finals.

This is what I tend to think too! I know they don't have Riley Hall, but Heatley (sp?) and the other very good receiver are a LOT to replace.

Good analysis ATL!

I tend to lean Pulaski as they have gone to the 5A title game 3 years in a row, so they know what they are doing. SW has some pieces, but until I see it I just can't pick them over Pulaski.

Agree, but I would give Pulaski a better chance at keeping it closer because they have been on the field with them before.
