September 25, 201610 yr Game should not have been played in my opinion. CCU is a first year program and they chose (God knows why) to not bring in a class of recruits and practice for a year and play a few scrimmages against some other teams JV's. Instead they brought it a hand full of transfers and a lot of high school Sr's and fielded a team with a month of practice under their belts. School and Head Coaches decision and they are smarter than me but I really don't understand it. Felt sorry for them.
September 25, 201610 yr Did they shorten the quarters? No, but Lindsey Wilson tried to shorten them by running the play clock down to under 5 on virtually every play. Problem was that a simple run up the middle became a touchdown. Unfortunate lumps for CCU, but give them some time and the area that they have to recruit from and they will be fine over time. Rome was not built in a day.
