I think we should pull a Portugal and decriminalize all drugs. Instead of jail, get these people treatment. Overall, usage actually went down there. As others have said, criminalizing things doesn't exactly make it better.

 

A person has to want treatment for it to work.

I'm the libertarian who says legalize all drugs and tax them. Remove the gang violence from the drug trade like we moved the mob out of alcohol.

 

As long as drugs are illegal there will be criminals looking to make a profit. We can't win that war.

Do a majority of people buy their drinks from legal companies or a moonshiner? Do large criminal rackets still sell illegal booze?
