chrisjung
Tim Haworth played in the 1997 Sweet Sixteen for Graves County and has led Hopkinsville to four trips (2012-2015) to Rupp Arena as the coach. Haworth also played in the NCAA Tournament for Murray State....that might be a tough one to top.
Smallhoops
A couple shout-outs for some native sons from my hometown of Owensboro: In addition to playing and coaching in the Sweet Sixteen, the aforementioned Greg Baughn also played on the Kentucky Wesleyan 1987 Division II NCAA championship team. Also, special recognition is due Rod Drake for not only both playing and coaching in the Sweet Sixteen but winning state championships as both a player (1980) and a coach (2015). tcjkbt
Bob Mulcahy played for Lafayette's 1950 state championship team...and coached Seneca to the state championship in 1964. Seneca also won the state in 1963 but I don't if Bob Mulcahy was the coach then.

broadcaster240
Correction: Bobby Watson graduated from Owensboro in 1948...and did NOT play on the 1949 state championship team there. My apologies.
AndOneDad
Terrific thread. I certainly don't know everyone on this list but interesting to note the few I do know personally, Chris O'Hearn and Allen Feldhaus, Jr. are absolutely "class acts" as educators, parents and community role models also. I suspect that might hold true for the entire list. Coincidence? I think not.
