Looks like the shoulder got him first, then helmets collided. I still think it should have been called targeting and I am surprised it wasn't.

 

 

1. Disagree on what hit first

2. My understanding is that shoulder to head on a defenseless player is still targeting.

They showed a different angle on TV and it appeared the shoulder contacted him first. From that angle it looks like the helmet made it there first but from that angle it doesn't look as though he led with his helmet as much as I thought. I could be wrong but the angle shown during the game made it look like the shoulder got there first.

 

Yes. That is why I was surprised they didn't call targeting.
