NCC gets a goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game.

 

Scoreboard and clock were not working the second half of the game. At about 3 minutes past what I had timed as regulation, a foul was called in the box and NCC makes the PK.

3-2 pk's. NCC makes went to Barth, Randall and Muck. Grosser NCC keeper had two saves and one St. Henry shot sailed wide right.

Just curious. Why "not surprised" NCC wins in PKs? Did you think they'd have the superior goalie, or superior spot kickers, or just that if NCC was going to win it would have to be by PKs. Again, just curious as to why "not a surprise."

I feel NCC has a bit more technical quality over St Henry where it is needed to prevail in PKs.

I felt St. Henry had the ball the majority of the game. Dominated possession until the last 10 minutes when they tried to defend their lead. If St. Henry stayed aggressive until the final whistle, I believe they would have won. I don't know if the Cru got tired, or their strategy was changed by the coach. Overall, I thought it was a fair game with a fair outcome.

 

Side note, Muck for NCC is a stud. If I'm NCC, I look to put the ball on his foot every chance I get

Interesting perspective. I actually thought NCC controlled the 1st quarter but lost some energy in the 2nd where I thought Henry took over possession and contolled until the final 10 mins. I heard one of the Henry players make a comment on a throw in to slow down and take some time before putting it in play. I commented to a buddy of mine that it seemed premature to slow down their aggressiveness. Heat may have had something to do with it as well.
