Wheelersburg (OH) 49 Ironton (OH) 6

Featured Replies

Was 21-0 after 1 quarter and 42-0 at halftime. Sounds like Wheelersburg is for real. Not sure what to make of Ironton.

Thanks for posting.

What is going on at Ironton?

And can you tell everyone which division each team is in and how Wheelersburg's title chances look?

Both Ironton and Wheelersburg are Division 5 and I think Wheelersburg could go deep in the playoffs. Coldwater is team they could have to go through.

Coldwater has been a solid program for a long time.

Coldwater has been a solid program for a long time.

And by "solid", you mean four time defending state champs, right? :D

Wheelersburg returns several starters from a team that went 13-1 in 2015 and lost to the aforementioned Coldwater Cavaliers in the semis. The 'Burg is a top five team in D5 in most preseason polls. They've owned Ironton lately and have replaced the Fighting Tigers as the big dogs of southeastern Ohio.

I was told 2. weeks ago Ironton could be in for a long season. Was told they have major internal issues. Watch the Coldwater Wheelersburg game last season and Coldwater made WB look like an average team.
