July 25, 201610 yr 81% humidity at 11:45, feels like a heat blanket here on the deck. No doubt, a friend and I run a lawn care/landscaping business. Out of curiosity I checked the weather channel app at 11am to see what the temp was since it felt abnormally humid. The temp was 89 and the heat index was 104 degrees, at freakin 11am! That's nuts. We were able to get 17 out of our normal 20 lawns in by 1:45 and called it a day. Temp now is 94 with a heat index of 106. Thankfully the three lawns we skipped didn't need it due to the grass being stunted by the heat.

My lawn is holding the moisture like nobodies business and despite cutting it about every 5 days or so, pretty much looks unkempt all the time. :cry:

But I will say this has not been a normal year, which has been great financially. In most years we have already experienced a mini drought by this time which leads to cutting bi weekly, which of course cuts the income in half. So while I'm not surprised, I am still a little surprised that you have to cut every 5 days. But like I said, that's generally a good thing. "A moist lawn is a happy lawn."

It's killing me. :lol2: If half + weren't a hill, I'd probably hate it less. As it is, I'm trying to figure out how I can landscape the hell out of that dang hill and never mow it again.

There look to be pockets of heat index in the high 90s to low 100s but that is mostly in WKY.
July 28, 201610 yr I managed to get my grass cut AGAIN..must cut it last Friday night cut it again last night. Thought I was going to kill myself. :lol2: It looks like crap, but it's not overgrown!
