I'm A White Cop and I Support Black Lives Matter

I'm not sure what you are showing us and if it's math I'm not sure that supports anything other than blacks are killed at a much higher rate than whites.

Apparently you will only see what you want to. Can't help you there. 389 people other than blacks opposed to 123 have been killed in interactions with police. At the rates that blacks have interactions with police that is simply not true. I don't condone police killing people, I think this happens way to often. I see in some of those videos poeple fighting the police and not complying. Doesn't give the police the right but why give them the opportunity. I've seen tons of videos of cops abusing the authority they have. Not all cops are bad. Not all blacks are criminals and thugs. The few bad always seem to overshadow the good. Happens on both sides. We should be trying to curb police violence on all citizens. In order for this to happen we need to curb all violence on cops and keep filming to get rid of the idiots. Not all people shot by cops are innocent. We can't blow up society everytime an armed criminal gets shot by police. If they choose to engage in armed confrontations with the police then they get to deal with the results of that choice. We have to stop celebrating criminals as saints. We need to stop accepting criminal behavior as the norm in our neighborhoods. It diminishes the victims who were innocent and killed.

This is what you said and seems to be what you base the "lack of leadership" upon:

Whether the greater message disagrees with the bad behavior if the bad behavior is allowed to continue then rightfully they will be judged.

So how does someone who leads a group/represents a group/is the face of the group allow bad behavior to happen?

You have a Republican senator make the quote I gave you. He's part of a group. Should we condemn that group's lack of leadership?

How can whomever you think is the "leadership" of BLM stop what some who use the BLM moniker from doing what they do? What would true leadership do in this type of disorganized-at-best group?

You realize you have made my point for me again. That is why it's a cop out. If there is no one to lead to call them out then no one should be able to decide who is or isn't part of the movement. You can't have it both ways. If someone says they are BLM or protests with BLM then commits violence or violent rhetoric , no one can then define they aren't BLM.

Again that's why a lack of leadership and a defined voice is a weakness.

Blacks make up about 13% of the US population. Killed at a much higher rate than that is correct.

How is nearly ten percent of the total killed "unknown"? My first guess - and it's just a guess - multiracial.

I'm sure it's just me being slow but I have no idea what you are saying in response to my point/questions. So bear with me.

You said "lack of leadership." I said "who is the leadership."

If you say you're "conservative" or "libertarian" but you can't name an official leader of that moniker does that mean you can't make the claim? That seems to be what you're saying.

So who is in the leadership position that is failing BLM?

There is no leader . That is why a lack of leadership is a weakness. Is that hard to understand ?

It's a cop out because if there is a lack of leadership then there isn't anyone then to speak out and say someone isn't apart of the group. If someone commits a violent act or says violent comments and states they support BLM or seems sympathic to movement and commits these acts there is no voice to shout them down.

.

It's hard to understand because you said something about "if they're allowed" in conjunction with "no leadership." So if we agree there is no defined leadership then who is "allowing" anyone to do anything?

Again, BLM is a concept/mantra. It's not an official organized group. It's no different than "I'm in the Tea Party" or "I'm a liberal."

Then how can you, anyone then say someone who crosses the line isn't apart of the movement.

If I have said that someone isn't allowed to be BLM or isn't part of BLM then I didn't state my feelings properly. I thought I have been consistent in stating that BLM was started as a result of the belief that blacks are targeted and isn't an official group.

Anyone can believe in BLM. Anyone can claim to support it. The killings by the two shooters in the last week , however, do not discount what BLM believes anymore than the shooter of the PP clinic who does it in the name of God discredits me or you.

Fair enough. But the pro life movement doesn't have protests calling for death of those they protest . The pro life movment hasn't had protests end in destruction of city blocks.

If your point is all movements are not perfect , can't dispute that. But if we talk about degree of hostility and where we are as a country you can't dispute one movement has sparked violence and has passive support of violence online . That movement is BLM.

Right now blacks commit violent crime at an alarming rate. So only being 13% of the population is irrelevant when you commit 62% of all the violent crime committed. You are going to come into contact with the police more being over half of the crime base but a smaller percentage of the populous. What's your point? The numbers have proved that cops are more likely to be shot at by a black suspect than the other way around. We don't get news on one but the other is covered insesivley and tried in the public forum before all the facts come out. Much of the time over someone who is a criminal fighting with the officer not complying and is armed. We protest over the worst of us. When we do it diminishes the real victims. More than not don't be a career criminal, dont fight, dont reach for a weapon, comply and you don't have anything to fear. Fighting with the police because you don't want to be arrested for something you have done can not be an accepted behavior. When the people's actions are corrected it will be easier to find the bad cops because we are not giving them an excuse to beat and kill.

Tactics like the ones in the video above are why I won't support BLM, and quite frankly, why I despise them. From a fundamental standpoint, I understand their message. However, their transmittal of their message, and the tactics they use to bully people into listening their message, are a disgrace.

That's disgusting. If your going to treat other people like that, so be it and hell with BLM. Your message means nothing if you present yourself in that manner. Way to further the divide. What does treating him like that solve?
