If the Red Devils go into the season with this as an objective (and I do not think that the staff will) they may not be able to focus on the ultimate goal (another state championship). The gameplans must be a win first attitude and if a Mr. Football award comes along with the wins then that is icing on the cake for the Red Devils and Clark.

Dont worry. Coach McGlone does not pad stats. Gross could have averaged almost 300 yds a game as a senior.

That is the exact way McGlone will approach this & every season...He will not sacrifice team goals for indivdual goals...History proves this...For example, in 2004 Gross could have easily surpassed 3000 yards & 60 td's if he were allowed to play more than an average of 2 qtrs & 12 carries/game...

Oh yeah, by the way...Greenup played well in their opener but Russell will be a little better than East Carter...

This game may be closer than alot of people think. Greenup already has a game under their belt in which they played very well and built some confidence. Russell has yet to take a snap in a game this year. Russell should win this game but don't take anything for granted with teenage kids. Forget the hype and take care of business. Its a new season.

That's why he didn't win! I think that the will make a more concerted effort to give Kasey a legitimate shot. I think after the State Playoff performance of Russell and Clark,that he is on on the radar of alot more people than Gross ever was.

I think anything less than a five or six touchdown win by Russell will mean they didn't have their 'A' game.

DEVIL58- yes Ivan is classy and does not run the score up, Doesnt mean that Drew Abrams will not score 21 points Friday. He is only a sophomore. I see alot of playing time for him this year.

Greenup returns all 5 starters along the offensive line. They are a big strong team although they don't have alot of speed at the skill positions. Russell should win, but this game scares me a little. I hope the Russell team is taking Greenup Co more seriously than most of the posters on BGP. I know the coaches are.:devil:
