May 4, 201610 yr I don't understand at all how the title is misleading. It says "some" people not all people. I think it's fair to say "some" people hate Fox News for that reason.
May 4, 201610 yr Author But...since it is PP92 I will say he is probably up to no good. :sssh: :lol2: :lol2: Just starting conversation.
May 4, 201610 yr Why was the title edited? If PP92's contention is that people hate Fox News (fairly or unfairly) because of the types of people that they attract who are represented in the comments section why was the title deemed misleading? Saying that Fox News attracts racists does not say that EVERY person who follows Fox News IS racist. They do attract racists. They attract homophobes. They attract people who are down on their luck and want to blame other groups. Doesn't mean the intelligent folk who also like Fox News fall into those categories. BUT it does mean that the PERCEPTION of Fox News is just that BY those who hate Fox News. I got his point. Now the edited title is not representative of the intent of the thread. Some of your points could be true . But you make some overreaching assumptions , without a standard of evidence based conclusions. I guess I could say MSNBC and CNN attract people who hate America but that doesn't mean the overwhelming majority of its viewers do. To be fair I got PP92 point , the title could of been worded better originally.
May 4, 201610 yr I'm not saying you have. Others have and I don't see how the scenarios are different. When people come to my defense or take my side or agree with me then the "liberal agenda" is at play and the lefties are ruining America becomes the conversation piece. It always ends up left vs right and the lefties end up representatives of whoever did wrong. The same rules aren't applied in this scenario though. That's my point. So if you think that then why would you portray that on the opposite spectrum ? It seem a little counterintuitive and feeds to a repetitive cycle.

May 4, 201610 yr Author So if you think that then why would you portray that on the opposite spectrum ? It seem a little counterintuitive and feeds to a repetitive cycle. Portray what on the opposite spectrum?
May 4, 201610 yr Portray what on the opposite spectrum? You're point is because some people on the right on here treat you this way on liberal issues then it's fair game on this topic. If you don't think it's fair when done to you then why do it on this ?
May 5, 201610 yr Author You're point is because some people on the right on here treat you this way on liberal issues then it's fair game on this topic. If you don't think it's fair when done to you then why do it on this ? I am asking why is there a new set of rules all of a sudden? I don't think it is right when those generalizations are made(and stated that early in the thread) and I questioned why it is that way on BGP but not for Fox News. I've never said why I hated Fox News. I hated Fox News before this and this doesn't move the needle one way or another about Fox News for me. I was simply pointing out that those comments are why some people hate Fox News and because it happened on a Fox News website that Fox News will get the blame for it just like I do when I "defend rioters". I have a bunch of Facebook friends who shared this article and said as much. I was interested to see what BGP would say and wasn't sure what to expect. Key point in all of this is that folks who hate Fox News because of these commenters are just as wrong as people saying I defend the rioters just because I am saying why they are rioting.

I don't see the direct comparison. But my point still stands , you can't say I hatell a news organzation because of some random commenters on the Internet, it's just weak. If someone says they hate fox because of Hannity , O'Reilly , or any other voice then that's fine. That's a legitimate response to actual content. But to criticize them for unaffiliated posters is just nonsense. Again I don't think I ever attacked you on what you are saying. But I could see someone criticizing or commentin where it may come off as legitimizing destructive behavior either to property or people. But like I said if you don't like that mind set of group think or lumping your opinion into something it's not why participate ?
