Reds @ Mets (4/25 - 4/27)

Is Moscot going to be on this team in 3 years? I don't doubt that Finnegan ends up in the bullpen but in this year of trial and error I would rather try him in the rotation first to see what we might have

3 years from now the rotation will likely look something along the lines of...

Stephenson

Reed

Iglesias

Garrett

Davis/Travieso

I agree. I will be shocked if he is in the rotation 2 or 3 years from now.

Same can be said for everyone in the rotation right now sans Iglesias...

I wouldn't count Finnegan out. I think most thought he would be a reliever, but they are obviously giving him a chance. Hard to say this early. Cingrani had like 15 amazing start when he first came up.

Cozart SS De Jesus 2B Votto 1B Suarez 3B Mesoraco C Duvall RF Schebler LF Moscot SP Hamilton CF

Gotta love the fact that they're playing with a bench consisting of Barnhart, Pacheco, and Holt.

We call this tanking in the NBA. Build a terrible bullpen and bench, works perfect!

You're right, but Cingrani couldn't cut it as a starter in college, either. Finnegan was a very good starter in college ( I realize that means little to nothing). I think the Reds acquired Finnegan with the hope that he would be a SP, and I think they'll keep him in the rotation this season to see what they've got.

I am fairly optimistic about the talent level within the organization. The Reds have the #2 pick in the upcoming MLB draft. I assume they'll select a quality hitter. They'll also have a top 5 pick in next year's draft and, again, will likely add another quality bat to the organization.

Add that to the pitching talent already in the organization (Bailey, Desclafani, Iglesias, Finnegan, Stephenson, Garrett, Lamb, Cody Reed) and I can actually envision a roster that can compete.

Pretty good outing by Lamb so far tonight. The most impressive stat? Check out that strike/ball ratio.

So it sounds like Moscot left last night's game due to issues with his surgically repaired left shoulder? If so, Finnegan probably sticks in the rotation.

Lamb needs to make the next scheduled start when that rotation spot comes up Tuesday night.

With baseball season in full swing and the Reds threads going, it made me realize....Where the heck has our friend @spindoc been? Haven't seen him on here in quite a while.

I have been wondering the same thing. Actually drafted a message to send to him then forgot to send it.

I was thinking about that the other night.
