Cov Cath scores 5 runs in top of 7

Ryle's Center Fielder played a very nice game in the field! Lots of mistakes for CCH. Twice they had 2nd and 3rd with no outs and failed to score.

Who pitched for both teams?

Ryle: Mann, Demler and Spiritoso pitched the 7th

CC: Pitzer, Eckerle

CCH is just very not very good defensively, particularly the infield. Nice comeback try but when you can't catch and throw the ball consistently it's hard to win.

Fielding seems to have been an issue all year. Have to clean that up if they expect to make a run at the Region.

Was the catcher that caught this game their regular catcher? He had a very hard time hanging on to the ball, all game long.

No. Decker Schwartz normally catches but had pitched the night before at Harrison so he didn't play.

Kennedy is the normal catcher.

So who is the normal catcher ? Kennedy or Schwartz?

I've watched CCH play about 6 games this year. Kennedy caught all but one or two of them.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "regular". Schwartz is a senior and three year varsity player and has been their #1 catcher since last year really after Nick Pope graduated. Kennedy is a sophomore who has gotten some time with Schwartz pitching more, but if you want to know who their #1 catcher is, that's Decker Schwartz.

thanks!!

Since Decker pitches, Krumps has the good sense to not play him at catcher the day after he pitches. Therefore, Kennedy catches when Decker pitches and also on the day after Decker pitches. Kennedy has great tools and a super arm. Colonels Coach Mohr is working with him on his footwork and blocking skills.
