April 17, 201610 yr If the Reds are rebuilding why is Hoover on this team? Better question is why are they paying him a million?
April 17, 201610 yr His time in Cincy has to be coming to an end. As a manager, if I thought my job may be on the line, how can you trust him when the game is on the line. One of these young pitchers has to be converted to a closer. Why do you think Price's job is on the line? Do you really think they can get a seasoned manager with the team they trot out there everyday? I don't think they go anywhere until the team gets better prepared to compete and that will take seasoning by some young pitchers.
April 17, 201610 yr Price's job was on the line last year so common sence says it will be this year. Reds aren't the Bengals and just keep re-newing a manager for losing. And is Barry Larkin just waiting for the Reds to get decent to take over the Managers job?

Id say hes being told to keep Hoover as the closer by the Front office.

April 17, 201610 yr Larkin wants no part of managing this team. If Barry Larkin has any interest in managing at the big league level I would think he would jump at an opportunity to manage his hometown team. Cincy would be much more tolerant of a rookie manager than elsewhere.

April 17, 201610 yr Larkin wants no part of managing this team. You are right. But in the next year or two, when this pitching comes together, Reds will be much better team.

April 17, 201610 yr Mascot is out of gas get him out of there........oh crap this damn bullpen again. Never mind let his arm fall off.
April 17, 201610 yr And he scores because the Reds can not get out the eighth place rookie hitter. A career minor leaguer. Reds blow yet another game to the Cards.
