Covington Catholic 8 Highlands 3

Cam Pitzer starts and gets the win for CCH. Ben France in relief and with a big bases loaded double. Nice win for the Colonels.

I understand Highlands Freshman Bryce Ziegler went yard for his first Varsity 4 bagger.

Nice kid. Nice catcher.

A nice pic of Ziegler connecting.

Cov Cath has only lost to Highlands once in the last ten years. Could be longer but I'm not sure. Hopefully this is the year Cov Cath can end their regional drought.

False and I only went back 3 years. They lost last year to Highlands and they lost during the 2013 season. Perhaps you got confused about Covcath not beating Highlands in football at anytime for 10 years?

Kudos to Cam Pitzer for getting out of a bases loaded, 1 run in, no outs jam in the first inning. Great show of determination as he started out very slow but battled to stem what could have been a big inning.

You are correct. My apologies. I was looking st KHSAA score board on my phone and it can be hard to see everything. The loss I was referring to was the 2013 season. I missed where last year they played 3 times with Highlands taking the third. Since the 2001 season, Highlands is now 2-23 against Cov Cath (I'm pretty sure these numbers are correct, but as I've proven, I've been wrong before). But to Highlands credit. They have the more recent regional title.

How dare you be off by a game or...gulp...maybe two...

Regardless, two fine programs. HHS should have a dangerous pitching staff in the postseason. They are also playing a strong schedule.
