3 Kentucky programs head down to Dallas this weekend for the first Adidas Gauntlet.

 

Manimal 16u and 17u and Louisville Magic 16u and 17u compete in the Silver Division while Hoop Dreams 16u and 17u compete in the Gold Division. Don't see a Hoop Dreams 15u and I see a Manimal 15u but I think that's the Denver version of Manimal but not sure. Just recall seeing that Minimal only has 16u and 17u.

Confirmed, the Indiana Elite (Gold Division) 16U team has CJ Fredrick and Jake Walter on it from CovCath.

 

They open play this evening against "The Firm".

That Indiana Elite team has 2018 point guard Robert Phinisee who holds offers from IU and Purdue. The 6' point guard from Lafayette is ranked as the #3 PG in the midwest. In addition to his IU and Purdue offers, he has interest from Xavier and Butler, among others.

Team Manimal 17U, in the Silver Division in Dallas, open tomorrow AM at 8:00 against a team from California and then play at Noon against a local team from Arlington, TX.

I saw this Indiana Elite team last year and they were one of the best AAU teams that I watched at that age level last year. The whole team was stacked. They have a kid of Asian descent on that team that I saw playing for a prep school in Indiana that was in the Dick's National Prep School tourney in ESPN a couple of weeks ago. The kid is nice. Team Manimal 17U, in the Silver Division, went 0-2 in pool play, picked up a forfeit win in the Bronze bracket, then got a win, and ultimately lost their next one. So 2-3 overall, but 1 of those wins was a forfeit victory.

That Indiana Elite 16U team, playing in the Gold Division, won their pool, advanced into the Gold Bracket of the Gold Division, and won out ending up Co-Champions of the event. CJ Fredrick had 14 or 15 in their final win -- great showing for the CovCath sophomore. Huge 1st event for this highly touted Indiana Elite team.
