April 2, 201610 yr Final. Good game Morehead was outscored 39 to 6 from the foul line for the game. Fouls were 31-16. Morehead was 6-13 from the line and Nevada was 39-45 from the line. Morehead finishes the season at 23-14.
April 2, 201610 yr One of the best, most competitive games that I have watched in a very long time. I cannot say enough on the way that the Morehead State team played. The Eagles kept comin back from double digit margins, to fall behind again and to finally take a lead late and have chances to win the game. I have already forgotten the MSU point guards name that they had said hadn't played much at all this season before tonight but he was fantastic in this one. All of the MSU players left everything they had in them and then some out on the floor. Heartbreaking game, loss and the fouls / FT difference compounded that. I am not saying that MSU didn't foul a lot bc they did. I am saying that there is no way in hell that Nevada wasn't committing just as many fouls if not more. The lack of even or even close to the amount of fouls called was imo ridiculous. Sean Woods has done a very good job at Morehead and I do hope that they are able to keep him there for a while, as long as they possibly can anyway. Living only around 50 mi. from Morehead, I really pull for the Eagles and they have made their school, fan base and community very proud. At U.K. along with a lot of the bigger programs the CBI really isn't all that but a school the size of MSU ...playing in the CBI was important and Wood's team has gained some valuble games / playing time in a tournament setting. This imo will do nothing but help the MSU program.
April 2, 201610 yr That heave at the end of OT almost went in. Yeah and the one at the end of regulation DID go in, but was taken away by the refs.
April 3, 201610 yr That heave at the end of OT almost went in.I know. Wow, that would had been fitting for that game. Yeah and the one at the end of regulation DID go in, but was taken away by the refs. :thumb: Sure did, I watched it over and over and he got the shot off. I'm not one to blame the refs, but: Very one-sided officiated game.My thoughts as well. I almost never blame officials in deciding a game but imo these refs sure did cost Morehead this one and not with just one blown/missed call, there were several to pick from.
