April 1, 201610 yr I'm preaching on the 7th Commandment tomorrow. I want to say that "Even atheists that do not believe in God, the Bible, or the concept of sin agree with me when I say that committing adultery is bad and wrong." Is this a fair thing for me to say? It is hard to find actual stats on this topic.
April 5, 201610 yr What makes adultery wrong? Why should there be marriage? Depends on your moral compass and what guides it. It may not be wrong in some aspects. Individual and/or partner thing.
April 5, 201610 yr Depends on your moral compass and what guides it. It may not be wrong in some aspects. Individual and/or partner thing. Can you provide a scenario or two where adultery may not be morally wrong? And what moral compass would allow adultery? Not trying to create a "gotcha" here, just trying to understand under what context you can foresee adultery as being a moral good, or at least not a moral evil.

Off the top of my head, swingers more than likely do not see it morally wrong, in fact, they probably see it as acceptable. There are a few societies or cultures that might also. It is illegal in 23 states with punishments of $10 in Maryland to three years in jail in Massachusetts. Now their moral compass is different, but a lot of ours are. There are different moral compasses in my mind, therefore, I will not judge you nor do I care if you judge me types of thinking. In my house it doesn't matter if I think it is right or wrong. The lovely lady tells me it is fatally wrong or missing body part wrong. She wins every time.
