I'm hearing his defensive coordinate may be coming I'm also hearing a few names being thrown around for a lineman coach.

 

@ThatGirl, if your son plays it looks to me like he's getting a nice coaching staff put in place. You need to get all your sons friends to come out and play. Like @plantmanky said, 30 kids on a 5a football team don't/won't cut it.

 

Your son needs teammates, even if they only practice hard against him to make him better. Football is the ultimate team sport.

He held a workout to get to know the players today. His defensive coordinator was there. It also looks like he had Sizemore, Maples, and Wolf. So I believe he is keeping them as well. I am hearing a name coming in to coach his defensive line, other than that I don't believe he has anyone else in mind, but is looking to add to the staff.

I heard he is keeping 3, the 3 you just named. I was told it looks like Wolf will coach LBs, Maples will coach RBs, and Sizemore Oline. I also have heard a surprise name that maybe added to the staff on the defensive side of the ball. Also heard the kids like the new coach, so it looks like it has been a good transition.

Actually, there were closer to 60 kids on the team last year. Only 30 of them ever got on the field.

 

48 listed on the official KHSAA roster. Still not a great number for 5A football if that held through the season. I'm sure they lost a few along the way though.

How many of those were freshman?

 

Outside of kick-off teams, moco has played kids both ways for several years. I'm not talking about 1 kid, it's historically several.

I believe three were freshmen. One thing that is important to remember is that usually MoCo doesn't include freshmen on the Varsity roster and keeps them totally seperate. (Except for a handful or less that elect to participate in summer practice)
