Are you talking about participating teams? I'd imagine players from the sixteen teams are considered to be on a field trip and counted as present.

Our school would excuse them. Hell we shut our school down if we are involved.

Not necessarily dying. It's more that people are busier, and more choices in terms of entertainment. I don't know many people in my circle of friends that can walk away for their job for several days to take in high school basketball games. And as much as people love high school sports, if they don't have an attachment to the game (went to one of the schools, have a kid or relative playing, their hometown school etc), people just aren't that interested in going.

I was thinking our school district used to but doesn't anymore. Which school district are you talking about? I'm glad to see that they support athletics the way they do.

Here is our problem at BGP. We have too much in common to be able to solve this CRISIS. We are old coaches, old teachers, old administrators, old and middle age fans that are so close to the Billboard, we can't read a word on it. There are experts to help us. Swallow our pride KHSAA and look to the pros.

Oldercoach says he doesn't have the solution. Too, close to see it. But, there is an intellectual business process to get the KHSAA there, if there is not such a pride level that blindness has taken over.

Athletes are excused from school for state events.

 

KHSAA has nothing to do with other students missing school that is up to the individual school.
