March 16, 201610 yr I was thinking today that the R establishment hates Trump so much they will do ANYTHING to stop him even if it means hurting the R party for a long time. If I was Trump, I would secretly meet with Cruz and ask him to be my VP and drop out NOW. By combining forces the R establishment cannot stop them. Trump would easily get enough delegates to get to 1,237 without Cruz running (especially with all the Cruz supporters in his camp). He would have to make it enticing to Cruz. I would offer the following. I would promise Cruz that he would be the "busiest" VP in history. He would not be a figurehead and would get to implement some of his policy ideas (let's say his tax plan and/or health care plan for examples). I would also promise Cruz that I would only want to president for 4 years and would vigorously support Cruz in the next presidential election. Cruz would only be in his early 50's in 4 years and Trump will be 73 or 74. Trump probably would not want to president until his late 70's anyway. Does this make sense?? I think them as a combo is about the only way to unite the R party and would be difficult for any D to beat...

I totally agree with the bolded. That is why I think Trump and Cruz may HAVE to join forces for either one of them to get the nomination.
March 17, 201610 yr The right-wing media has sucked you in. As I stated elsewhere the Republican establishment doesn't really hate Trump. In fact, I believe they hate Cruz more than Trump. They do hate knowing that Trump is a loser in the fall and will cost them the presidency and perhaps one house of Congress.

I think it is funny that so many think Trump could not beat Hillary. If you look at the Electoral College Map, he puts a few states in play that NO other R's can win...
