That is actually not a bad looking schedule for the Greenies .....I say they atleast go 3-2 out the shoot and Lickert said they were going to need a big upset this season. Maybe Newport or Lloyd will be that game.

Dayton Last season beat Owen around 26-13

lost to Grant 42-27

lost to Newport in a romp, but IMO Newport was the best AA team in the state last season

didn't play Lloyd...

beat Bracken in a romp...

 

Dayton returns around 6 seniors and 15 or 20 juniors...

 

Don't know a lot about Owen... lost the Juett kid....

The QB is a 3 year starter but they did lose RB Polly from last year who was very good. Not a lot of line depth but better than in recent years and the receivers should be better.

 

The defense should be better and might not have to be on the field as much.

 

Dayton should be right in the mix for a playoff spot.

There is no way the Green Devils beat Newport at Newport this year.

Never say "no way" ......although we did say it would take a big upset. Key injuries/sickness can be huge equalizers in Class A/AA games.

I guess I could live with that :thumb:

I think Dayton may be a surprise team in Class A. If they keep everyone healthy, they have skilled players and could beat some teams. They have always had teams built on heart and aggressiveness and I am sure with Lickert at the helm... this team should be no different.

 

I like Dayton 38-23 in a shootout.
