Holy Cross-Greenup county game

Featured Replies

holy crosss varsity won 21-7 in the first half. Greenup co. scored on their first possesion but did not get a single firstdown after that. i did not see any of the jv or freshman. hc was balanced on offense and very strong on defense.

Anyone know how the game went?

Welcome to BGP. Glad to have you.

Thanks for the information and welcome to BGP.

The second half was a repeat of the first half with HC jv team in. GC could not move the ball, it was three and every time. HC has a lot of dept on defence this year,so it was easy for them to keep players fresh. The freshman looked very good also.

How long will Penny be out?

Thanks..That will definitely hurt HC early in the season.

Yes they will miss penny, BUT they will be fine with the backs they have. Pillip Moor, runs as hard as Penny and may be better when it comes to making cuts. Bradley Cooper is a very good tough runner, and with Cross and Joe Sullivand at reciever the will not miss him as much as you thik.

Does anyone know who GC used at QB ?

Greenup Co. qb is Eric Craft he is a sophmore!

It is sad that they can not field a dominating team with the numbers they have. BUT I know when i went to school there, early in my life, getting to town was a once a week trip on Saturday. I know that things have changed but a drive from the end of greenup Co to the school can last up to 30-40 minutes depending on the trip, so going home after school then back to practice is a NO-GO, staying until everything is over then going home to do work can be demanding. I think the bus ride to school is around an hour from out on Rt 7 past Rt 2.

Back in the day,, my bus ride to G.C. started at 6:25 and I arrived at the school at 8:00. IMO that's the biggest problem with athletics at Greenup Co. My parents both worked and I had to pick only one sport to play.
