Beechwood/Boone County Scrimmage

Featured Replies

Boone returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and then Beechwood scored three straight touchdowns. Boone scored again right before the half to make it 21 to 14 Beechwood.

In the second half Boone County scored on a very long pass against Beechwood's second team (there were two or three Beechwood starters still in on defense) to make it 21 all. Beechwood went back on offense with their second team while Boone stayed with the ones and then both teams went with the second team and I left.

It was a pretty even scrimmage but Beechwood looked slightly better.

How did Beechwood look compared to last week?

How did Beechwood look compared to last week?

Much much better.

Really I saw a lot of good in Beechwood against Highlands even though the Birds really put one on the Tigers.

Either way, Beechwood played great run defense tonight and both Elliott and Bankamper are going to be great 1A football players.

IMO Beechwood was much better prepared than last week. Coach Rash is fine tuning his team. Honestly, last week, I was a little worried. Now, I think we are going to have a great season. Go Big Red!:fight:

With me now being a Beechwood parent, I was worried about the year after hearing about the Highlands scrimmage. But after being around the program for a few weeks and seeing the changes the staff and the players have made in my son, I won't worry about the season again. I think Beechwood will do just fine after seeing them against Boone.

Guru... how did Farris look at RB?

Boone did not have any numbers on so it is hard to tell. I think it was Farris that returned the kickoff for the TD (and looked great) but again I am not sure.

For the most part, Boone was not able to run the ball on Beechwood (no matter who was running the ball). Beechwood played tremendous run defense in the scrimmage.

Back to Boone for just a second, I really liked the Rebel QB (throws a very nice ball) and I think Boone has a chance to be very good by the end of the year.

Farris was the one who returned the opening kick off. Farris and Kyle Arey split time in the back field. Farris left after a injury to his abdomin. Hopefully, he will be good to go for Cov Cath. I liked seeing the rebels throwing the ball, with Bogle at QB and the athletic recievers it could be a different Boone County team.
