The Lady Bulldogs are the 35th District Champs for the first time since 2002 (the year they last won the region as well)! Holmes dominated almost the whole game. Holmes was up 19 at one point, but HC cut it to 5 but couldn't get over the hump! Holmes played great team ball, moved the ball well against the zone! Best I've seen them all year! Congrats to the Lady Bulldogs!

What a game to watch! Both teams played a well hard fought game! Holmes was on it tonight.

In the first half, Holy Cross turned the ball over 7-8 times? Maybe more! Holmes pressure caused HC some trouble.

 

One thing that impressed me was how well Holmes ball movement was against HC's zone. It seemed like a different team than the last time these teams met!

 

Holmes wanted revenge from last year, you could see it after the final buzzer went off.

Congrats to Holmes. Free throw shooting down the stretch was impressive, Stoval played a tremendous game tonight. Holy Cross never gave up and played hard. Well coached team. Good luck to both in the regional. Will be an interesting draw tomorrow.

Congratulations LADY BULLDOGS!! I've watched these girls for so long and I know most these parents personally!! They are amazing young women!! It was awesome just being there to see them enjoy their moment! Good Stuff!! Good luck in the regionals ladies!!!

I was very impressed with Holmes ball movement tonight; their ability to knock down the three point shot and hit free throws at the end of the game. Great job Lady Bulldogs!!! Looking forward to watching you guys in the 9th region tournament.

Stovall was the difference IMO. If I was one the other 3 district winners, I think I would be hoping to draw away from HC.

Problem with being away from HC then you would be drawing in with Holmes side. I think the winners will take their chances with HC on their side and Holmes on the other. Should be a good tourney good luck to everyone that made it. I still stick with Holmes and Ryle as the teams to beat.

Just the emotion that the girls expressed, they were serious all game and you could tell they were there for business! But afterwards, you could see the joy and a weight kinda lifted off their shoulders!

 

Those girls didn't forget what it felt like when HC beat them last year on their home court twice - one being the district final and cutting down their nets.

Only odd thing tonight, as the girls were cutting down the net the coach had them stop and hit the locker room. Guess there is work to be done.
