Ludlow 28 Scott 22 Scrimmage

Good debut today for Randy Borchers in his first game as a head coach. Ludow for the most part controlled most of the game. Ludlow was up 21 to 7 at the half, and then Scott came out with alot of emotion to start the second half and ended up taking the lead 22 to 21. But then Ludlow came right back with a 70 yard drive for a touchdown, and then picked off a pass on scott's next series at scott own 20. The JV and freshman teams then came into play after that.

Jarrett Rouse of Ludlow looked really good today at QB throwing 2 touchdown passes to Chris Poe, and then also running in a touchdown. Braydon Mills also scored on a touchdown after Cory Gilbert had some big long runs to set it up.

I know I come away VERY IMPRESSED with this Ludlow team. Coach Borchers really seems to have done a great job with this team so far, and I really look for this team to get back to the playoffs again this year...

Any stats?

I dont have any exact stats but I know for Ludlow but I would say Jarrett Rouse had over 100 yards passing with 2 tds, and then also probably around 20 to 30 yards rushing with a td. Chris Poe had around 50 to 60 yards receiving with 2 tds, and he also ran for around 40 yards. Cory Gilbert had around 50 yards rushing. On defense Kyle York had an interception that he returned 50 yards to set up a touchdown, and Buddy Ludsford also had an interception.

But I dont know if these are exact stats because I just going by what I remember seeing, and I dont know really any of the stats for scott.

I thought Ludlow played very well except for the 1st part of the 2nd half when they seemed to be caught a little off guard by Scott's change of QB's and a surge of emotion but they settled down and for 2/3rds of the game they controlled the line of scrimmage IMO. I thought Rouse looked good at QB. Poe is a bigtime playmaker and Gilbert ran hard. McGlasson at Linebacker had is usual good game and made several hard hits. Only downside that I saw was that on a number of ocassions the Panthers gave up some big gainers but seemed to come right back and make their own big defensive play.

Liked what I saw out of the Panthers and I'm sure Coach Borchers will work them hard the next 2 weeks b4 their home opener against Carroll Cty. All in all a good 1st effort for the Panthers..

Scott came out flat in the first half but you have to give them credit on the way they came back in the second half... That alone shows how much heart this team has compared to last year.. Look for them to come out strong in their season opener against holy cross.. We still have alot of young players that are learning what its like at the varsity level and we look for them to step it up...

I expect another long season from Scott even though I really like Fisk. 4A seems much stronger this year across the board.

Really? Sounds like some of the 4A teams had all they could handle with 1A teams this week.

What does what the other teams did have to do with Scott football? When I say other teams will be better I didn't specifically mean Boone or Dixie, although I think Dixie is much more seasoned this year. I meant the typical middle of the road teams, SK, Campbell, and Holmes. All 3 will be better. Boone and Dixie should at least be as solid as they were last season.

I just assumed "across the board" meant all of the NKY 4A teams. Why do you think that 4A is stronger this year? Struggling with 1A teams would not suggest that. I know these are scrimmages and the scores are not always indicative of actual play. But come on, a strong 4A program should thrash a 1A team night in and night out. Isnt that why we are going to a 6 class system? Because the smaller schools cant compete with the big schools?:walk:

Heard Scott was missing some lineman due to injury. Curtis Spencer (Scott WR) 2tds recieving, 60 yds rushiing, and an int on D. Watch out for this kid, he is good.

Scott was missing some key lineman. Curtis Spencer will have a great year this year he just gets better every year and every game. He makes things happen.

Looks to be another very long year for Scott from what I saw.
